S.M Sazzad Ali, ndc Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, was born on March 25, 1961 in a well-respected Muslim family in Dhaka District. Ali began his career in 1984 through the BCS Police Cadre. Throughout his career, he has held significant positions.

S.M Sazzad served as the Deputy Police Commissioner (DMP) of the Tejgaon Division and as the Superintendent of Police for Lakshmipur District. Additionally, he served as the DIG of Chattogram and Dhaka Ranges, the DIG of Highway Police, and as an Additional IGP at the Police Headquarters.
